NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021 exam has been postponed due to rise in COVID-19 cases. According to the earlier UPTET notice , the UPTET 2021 notification was scheduled to be released today and the UPTET application form process was to begin from May 18. The new date for the exam will be announced only after taking into account the COVID-19 situation in the state.
As per the bstlive twitter handle, the UPTET 2021 postponement letter has been sent to the Secretary of UPTET examination authority board. The postponement of the UPTET 2021 application was approved by the government to give a fair chance to everyone to apply.

Why is the UPTET 2021 postponed?
UPTET notification 2021 which was supposed to be announced today, stands postponed considering the health and safety of applicants and exam functionaries. In the past few days there has been a surge in COVID 19 cases across the state of Uttar Pradesh. In this situation of lockdown when the COVID-19 cases are rising rapidly, only a few applicants are only able to apply online for UPTET 2021 by themselves. A large number of students will not be able to fill the UPTET application form 2021 as they cannot visit the cyber cafes because of lockdown and curfews.

UPTET is the state level teacher eligibility test conducted by UPBEB to determine the eligibility of teachers in government schools of Uttar Pradesh. The UPTET exam is conducted for two papers. Paper I is for the applicants who will apply for Class I to 5 whereas Paper II is for the applicants of Class 6 to 8.
