UP govt to recruit 10,000 teachers for urban schools under the Basic Education Council after approval from CM Yogi Adityanath.
The Uttar Pradesh government will soon begin the recruitment process for 10,000 teachers in urban schools under the Basic Education Council. The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Primary Education Sandeep Singh took to platform X to share that a proposal for the recruitment has been submitted and appointment will begin shortly.
He added that efforts are also underway to connect the recruitment of instructors in upper primary schools with the ongoing teacher hiring initiative. The recruitment drive is expected to help fill teaching vacancies and improve the quality of education in government schools across urban areas of Uttar Pradesh .

His post on platform X reads, "A proposal has been submitted for the recruitment of 10,000 new teachers in schools in urban areas under the Basic Education Council. The appointment process will commence shortly. Additionally, efforts are underway to link the appointment process for instructors in upper primary schools with this initiative."
Thanking Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for approving the proposal, the minister said the government remains focused on strengthening the education system while generating employment opportunities for youth.
Official notification soon
The move is likely to bring relief to thousands of teaching aspirants awaiting fresh vacancies in the state. This comes after several schools under the Basic Education Council reportedly faced a shortage of teachers, particularly in urban areas with high student enrolment.

The official notification, including subject-wise vacancies, eligibility criteria, application dates, and selection procedures, will be released soon. As per existing recruitment norms in Uttar Pradesh, candidates are expected to qualify for UPTET or CTET certification along with relevant teaching degrees or diplomas. Aspirants are advised to keep an eye on the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Education Department and the Basic Education Council.
