So far, The STF has arrested 34 people. According to Kapri's PIL, only the 'small fish' have been arrested by the STF until now, while the big shots are still roaming free. The petition alleged that the STF has failed to reach the real culprits in the case as the role of many senior officers and leaders of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand is suspected. Kapri also alleged in the PIL that the government is trying to save the culprits.
In addition, Sanjiv Kumar Chauhan, the brother of RMS TechnoSolutions Pvt Ltd's owner Rajesh Chauhan, was arrested by the STF for taking over 20 candidates from Udham Singh Nagar district to an apartment in Ghaziabad with another arrested accused Sandeep Sharma to help them solve the leaked question paper.
The High Court dismissed the petition seeking a CBI probe and stated that the STF has almost completed its investigation in the case and 42 people have been arrested, and the charge sheet has also been filed in the case.
