Veer Gatha Project: Valour of soldiers to be included in school curriculum, says Dharmendra Pradhan

NEW DELHI: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, while speaking at the felicitation of Super25 contest winners under "The Veer Gatha Project" organised by the defence ministry in partnership with the education ministry said that both ministries will work to include the valour of Indian soldiers and India’s Veergatha in the last 75 years into the school curriculum and textbooks to strengthen the sense of responsibility towards the country from an early age.

According to Pradhan, there can be no better celebration of Amrit Mahotsav than honouring India's Veers. He thanked Rajnath Singh, defence minister for initiating The Veer Gatha Project. Pradhan further said that Super 25 and Veer Gatha Project has brought out the patriotism in India's youth. He also assured that the education ministry will develop an institutional mechanism for awarding academic credits for certificates received under the Veer Gatha Project and suggested the renaming of the contest as Sena Super 25 in the honor of soldiers.

Pradhan informed that the Super 25 was conducted this time among 8 lakh students across 5,000 schools. He said that the government will make efforts to expand the reach of this initiative to all schools in India and to over 1 crore students.
