NEW DELHI: Vijaybhoomi University’s Vijaybhoomi School of Science and Technology (VSST) has invited applications for Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in software engineering for the 2021-22 session. It is India’s first software engineering programme with a two-year guaranteed paid apprenticeship, as per a statement from the school.
The eligibility criterion for admission to the four-year programme (two-year class training and two-year job training) is a class 12 passing certificate or equivalent. The candidates are selected through Vijaybhoomi scholastic aptitude test (VUSAT), JEE, MHCET and Preeminent Education and Research Association (PERA).
VSST has partnered with Lithan Academy, Singapore, to offer the apprenticeship programme wherein students will learn while working as an apprentice in an information technology (IT), information technology enabled services (ITES) or tech start-up company in India and abroad.
“Some of these apprenticeships can be paid as well allowing the student to learn and earn during the last two years of the programme,” a statement from Vijaya Bhoomi University said.

According to the statement, the IT companies make the freshers go through meticulous training in order to prepare them for employment. This programme will make the students “first-day-first-hour ready” by providing them industry-relevant skills and hands-on experience.
“In four years, the student will have a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering and two years of job experience. The course is reasonably priced and offers students the option to earn while they learn, increasing the program's return on investment,” the statement further added.
