Download EbookNEW DELHI: Vellore Institute of Technology has shut its campus till May 31 due to Coronavirus outbreak. The institute has suspended classes for all programs and departments with immediate effect. Students residing in the hostel have been told to vacate their rooms as early as possible.
The institute made an official announcement through a notice on March 15 stating, “ In view of the CoronaVirus Covid-19 threat, the summer vacation for the academic year 2019-20 has been advanced for all the students of all programs. The revised summer vacation period is from March 16 to May 31. The institute will reopen on June 1”. The following orders have been sent to students

The winter semester classes will continue from June 1, 2020 to June 24, 2020

The winter FAT will be rescheduled between June 26 to July 19, 2020

There will be no summer semesters for this academic year (2019-20)

Arrear exams scheduled in the month of May are postponed from June 7 to 24 and from July 10 to 30.

Final year students will be given an opportunity to register for fresh courses (July 13 to August 14). This is applicable to timed out students also

Pre final students will be permitted to clear their backlogs through arrear examinations

M.Tech and MCA 2nd year students and final year students of integrated M.Tech are to start from July 13 and will end on August 14 (excluding FAT)

Project reviews will be conducted from June 1 to 12, 2020
In lieu of the institute closure, students who are preparing for the VITEEE 2020 exam are also in doubt whether their exam will be conducted as per the schedule or will it get postponed.
