NEW DELHI, APRIL 16: VIT University has brought VITEEE 2018 to a close on April 15. The entrance examination was held in online mode in a window of 12 days, starting from April 4 in 124 test centre cities in India and abroad. Though no exact figure has been shared, however, according to VIT University officials, over 2 lakh candidates have registered for the engineering entrance test this year. There were 3 exam slots this year wherein VITEEE was held everyday from 9 am to 11.30 am (first session), from 12.30 pm to 3 pm (second session) and from 4 pm to 6.30 pm (last and 3rd session). As last year, this year also the entrance test was conducted in online mode for 2.30 hours.

The candidates who have appeared in VITEEE 2018 exam, will be able to check their result on or before April 27. Through the result, they will able to check their scores and the ranks in the test. Candidates will also be informed about their ranks in VITEEE 2018 through their registered email ID.

This year, VIT University has made some changes in the application process and fee. As per VIT University authorities, the application fee for offline application was revised. In 2017-18, where the fee for offline application of VITEEE was Rs. 990, this year, it has been increased by Rs. 210, making it Rs. 1,200 (inclusive of GST). However, the application fee for the online mode of application is not revised.

Not only this, during the application filling, the candidates had to submit scanned copy of Aadhar Card or proof of enrolment ID of Aadhar Card. This was not required in last year's application form of VITEEE.

Qualifying candidates in VITEEE will be eligible for participating in the counselling, which is expected to be held in 2 rounds in May. As per the previous year’s cutoff of VITEEE, it’s expected that VITEEE Rank holders from 1 to 99999 ranks may be considered eligible for participating in the counselling. The last year’s data also reflects that Rank holders with a rank of 100000 and above may not be considered eligible for admission in Vellore/Chennai/VIT-AP campuses. However, candidates with a rank upto 150000 may be considered eligible for participating in counselling for admission in Bhopal campus of VIT University.

Over 2 lakh candidates appear in VITEEE every year for admission to B.Tech programmes across its 4 campuses - Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati and Bhopal.
