The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has started the registration process for the Joint Entrance for Post Basic Nursing (JEPBN 2026) today, April 1. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the WB JEPBN 2026 through the official website at wbjeeb.nic.in/jepbn.

As per the schedule, candidates can apply for the WB JEPBN 2026 examination till April 18. The WBJEEB will conduct the JEPBN 2026 exam in offline (OMR-based) format on June 7 across 24 districts in the state. The entrance exam will be held in single shifts: from 11 am to 12:30 pm.

The JEPBN application correction window will open on April 20, and candidates will be allowed to edit their forms till April 21. The admit card for the WBJEEB JEPBN exam will be issued on May 28.

Candidates who have passed Class 12 examination from any recognised board and who have passed the GNM course from the Institute recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and obtained registration or RNRM certificate from the State Nursing Council of any State of India are eligible to apply for the WB JEPBN 2026.

To complete the WB JEPBN 2026 application form, candidates will be required to pay an application fee of Rs 3000 plus the bank’s service charges, if applicable.

WB JEPBN 2026 exam pattern, syllabus

The WB JEPBN 2026 exam paper will be available only in English. It will have 100 questions, and all of them will be multiple-choice (MCQs) with four options each. The total exam time will be 90 minutes.

The JEPBN question paper will be based on the GNM syllabus and will be divided into two parts. Part A will include subjects like anatomy, physiology, sociology, psychology, pharmacology, microbiology, nutrition, and pathology, with 40 questions.

Part B will cover topics such as the foundation of nursing, medical surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, psychiatric nursing, obstetrical nursing, and community health nursing, with 60 questions.

As per the JEPBN marking scheme, you will get 1 mark for each correct answer, while each wrong answer will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks. If you select more than one option for a question, even if one of them is correct, it will be considered incorrect, and you will lose 0.25 marks. No marks will be given or deducted for unanswered questions.
