WBJEE 2025 defence quota counselling on September 19; 57 candidates shortlisted

WBJEE Counselling 2025: The board has reserved 13 seats under the defence quota, including two at Jadavpur University. Allotment will be based on the general merit rank score.
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has announced the counselling schedule for candidates under the defence quota in WBJEE 2025. The WBJEE 2025 defence quota counselling will be held on September 19 at 12:30 pm at the WBJEEB office, RUPANNA, DB-118, Sector-1, Salt Lake City, Kolkata.
A total of 57 candidates have been shortlisted by the Rajya Sainik Board, Home Department, to participate in the Defence Quota counselling. Candidates can download the list of candidates from the official website at wbjeeb.nic.in. The list includes details such as the name of the candidate, WBJEE roll number, date of birth, and the rank obtained in the WBJEE exam.
“A list of 57 (Fifty-Seven) candidates has been sent by Rajya Sainik Board, Home Department, Govt. of West Bengal for attending the Defence Quota Counselling. The list of candidates as provided (vide no. 13/2019-753/RSB, dt. 11 Sep 2025) by the Rajya Sainik Board is appended herewith,” the official notice said.
According to the board, 13 seats have been reserved under the Defence Quota for the academic session 2025-26. Of these, 11 seats are in different branches of Government Engineering and Technology Colleges in the state, while 2 seats are at Jadavpur University. The allotment of branches at Jadavpur University will be decided by the university authority.

WBJEE Counselling 2025: No domicile required for defence quota
Candidates will have to carry their WBJEE 2025 rank card, proof of date of birth, Class 12 marksheet, one passport-size photograph, and the WBJEE centralised e-counselling seat allotment letter (if applicable) while reporting at the WBJEEB office for counselling.
As per the official notice, candidates who did not participate in the WBJEE 2025 centralised online counselling will be required to deposit Rs 500 in cash as counselling fees.
The board clarified that domicile criteria are not mandatory for availing the Defence Quota in state government engineering colleges and Jadavpur University. Candidates will be called in order of their General Merit Rank Score (GMRS) and will have to be physically present with all required documents to secure allotment.
