WBJEE results 2025 tomorrow after prolonged delay over OBC quota

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEE) will declare the WBJEE 2025 result tomorrow, August 7, after a prolonged delay. The WBJEE result 2025 announcement was delayed after the Calcutta High Court ordered an interim stay on the West Bengal government’s decision to provide reservations for OBC categories.

The West Bengal government had prepared a new list after the HC, in May 2024, had quashed the inclusion of as many as 77 communities in the previous lists. More than 1 lakh candidates are awaiting the WBJEE result 2025 for admission to engineering colleges.

WBJEE board chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee had earlier clarified that the board was ready to publish the results on June 5, but subsequent legal proceedings over the OBC reservation policy delayed the entire process.

Several students had also expressed their concerns over the delay in the WBJEE result 2025 declaration. They said it has been over three months since the exam was held for admission to undergraduate engineering courses in West Bengal colleges, and prolonged delay caused them mental stress and anxiety.

The WBJEE 2025 exam was held on April 27.

WBJEE result date 2025

Following the announcement of the WBJEE result date 2025, candidates were required to upload their caste certificate on the official portal by August 2. The decision was made to upload the candidate's profile with accurate caste category certificate information after consulting with legal experts.

"The board has decided to incorporate these updates before the results are announced," WBJEE chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee said.

Candidates will be able to access their WBJEE result 2025 on the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in, using their application number and password. The board will also announce the WBJEE cut-off marks after the results are declared. Shortlisted candidates will be able to participate in WBJEE counselling 2025 for admission in engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture courses in colleges across West Bengal.
