NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has uploaded the revised final answer key today at the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. Candidates who have appeared will be able to calculate the probable score by matching the response submitted by them and the final answer key. The Board will announce the WBJEE result date 2024 soon.
The WBJEE cut-off 2024 will be based on the number of candidates applied and appeared in the exam, availability of seats, difficulty of exam, and cut-off trends. Through the WBJEE score, admission to engineering, agriculture, pharmacy, and other courses will be offered by the participating colleges.
Candidates will have to enter the WBJEE application number and password, generated during the registration, to download the final answer key and results.
The West Bengal government has implemented the tuition fee waiver scheme (TFW) for meritorious and economically backward students. To be eligible, students should be domiciled in West Bengal and their family income should be less than Rs 2.50 lakhs. The waiver is limited to the tuition fee only. All other fees will have to be paid by the student.
WBJEE 2024: Scoring methodology
The marking scheme is different for each category. Candidates will have to make note of the scoring methodology to calculate the probable score.
Category-1
- Only one option is correct.
- One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
- 1/4th marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- For any combination of more than one option, even if it contains the correct option, the
- said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -¼ (25% negative) marks.
- Not attempting the question will fetch zero mark.
Category-2
- Only one option is correct.
- Two marks will be awarded for the correct answer.
- 1/2th mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- For any combination of more than one option, even if it contains the correct option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks.
- Not attempting the question will fetch zero mark.
Category-3
- One or more options are correct.
- Two marks will be awarded for all correct answers.
- For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options, the said answer will be treated as wrong, yielding a zero mark even if one or more of the chosen option(s) is/are correct.
- For partially correct answers, when all right options are not marked and also no incorrect options are marked, marks awarded =2 × (no of correct options marked) / total
- no of actually correct option(s).
- Not attempting the question will fetch zero mark.
