Woxsen University expands labs, academic infrastructure with competitions

Woxsen University rebrands existing labs, academic infrastructure and introduces competitions, hackathons to connect with Ivy League best practices.

NEW DELHI: Woxsen School of Business, Hyderabad rebrand its existing labs and academic infrastructure and introduce new initiatives in the form of competitions and hackathons.

Through its chair professorships, Woxsen University has released competitions such as the James Stone sustainability competition. These competitions are case-study, project or presentation based that will be open to students from various universities across India. Such initiatives aim to develop a larger connect between Ivy League best practices and Woxsen University.

The James Stoner sustainability competition held at the university posed the question- what are the key drivers for successful realization of sustainability? The competition saw a massive participation from students across schools of business, design and technology. The students were divided in teams of four and were to present their posters to the chief guest EGADE Business School, Mexico, Carols Scheel.

The poster presentations showed a diverse range of ideas from the students, the winning teams had posters on themes including electronic waste disposal, recycling plastic bottles and sustainable education. Other themes ranged from cultural sustainability, reconsidering new purchases- Woxsen thrift shop, carbon emission to poverty reduction among others.

Vice president, Raul V Rodriguez, said: “The initiatives have helped our learner community develop a larger understanding of global standards and industry requirements.”
