NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 21: The World University of Design (WUD) initiated a two-day exclusive Design Thinking workshop, named Global Goals Jam 2.0 (GGJ).
The workshop is being held in association with the Digital Society School of University of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam along with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). GGJ is an international platform for inclusive learning where people from around the world contribute to the 17 global goals for sustainable development by sharing their stories, projects and visions for the future.
The Workshop was inaugurated by chief guest Dr Swati Subodh, the bio-scientist-entrepreneur and Director for Healthcare Innovations at 1M1B (1 million for 1 billion) Foundation, and the keynote address was delivered by Dr Sushma Sagar, Professor & Surgeon, AIIMS Delhi. Some of the co-mentors at the workshop included Prof. PV Madhusudan Rao – Professor & Head (Design), IIT Delhi and Prabhat Gusain, Investment specialist @investIndia (Startup India).
The event attracted participation from 56 innovators from around the country including 8 bachelor and masters students of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. After evaluating the pitch from all the ideators, the mentors finalized 7 ideas which are being taken forward. These ideas will mature into business plans by the end of the workshop and will be evaluated by UNDP for a global rollout.
WUD has been hosting the event in India since 2017. This year WUD will host this event along with 40 other cities worldwide. Global Goals Week was launched in 2016 under the aegis of the UNDP together with the United Nations Foundation to offer an SDG-focused branding umbrella for key convening both within and alongside the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
