NEW DELHI, MAY 2: Not a single students of class 10 and class 12 from as many as 150 schools in Uttar Pradesh have not been able to clear the State Board examinations. As per the Board officials, the poor show of these schools is a result of strict anti-copying measures implemented during Board examinations.
The overall pass percentage of UP Board has also gone down considerably this year from 81.2 in previous years to 75.16 this year. There is also a dip of 10.19 percentage in Class 12 results as compared to last year.
In 98 out of the 150 schools, not even one student was able to pass the 10th Board exam while in other 52, no student passed the 12th or intermediate examination.
Reportedly, the maximum number of schools (17) are from Ghazipur district registering zero results with 11 schools counting for nil result in 10th class and remaining for class 12. Some of the other districts with high disappointing figure include Allahabad (6) and Azamgarh (6). There are also five schools each from Mirzapur, Mau, Hardoi, and Bahraich drawing a flak in the board results.
In February this year, before the commencement of Board examination, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that nearly 10 lakh students had opted out of the state board examination after his government decided to crack down on cheating. The state government had installed CCTVs in all examination centers and also constituted a special task force (STF) of the police to help conduct free and fair Board exams.
