12th Board Exam 2021: Arvind Kejriwal appeals Centre to cancel Class 12th exams

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeals to the central government to cancel Class 12 board exams. The minister took Twitter to support the cancellation of 12th board exams 2021. Kejriwal said that the board should opt for internal assessment to evaluate the 12th results as students and parents are worried about the 12th exams 2021.

Arvind Kejriwal in his recent tweet said, “Students and parents are worried about the 12th examination. They do not want the 12th examination to be held without vaccination. I appeal to the central government to cancel the 12th board exams. They should be assessed on the basis of past performance.”

In one of his previous press conferences, the Delhi CM supported the cancellation of 12th board exams. He said that the examination centres can turn out to be hotspots for the coronavirus cases.

“More than six lakh students write the CBSE board exams and one lakh teachers participate in the evaluation process. These centres could become a hotspot. I appeal to the central government to cancel all CBSE exams. Students can be assessed through internal assessment or online exams. It is important to cancel CBSE exams,” the minister said in a press conference earlier.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had also reiterated his demand of "vaccination or cancellation" for Class 12 board exams. In a letter to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Delhi Deputy CM said, "If Centre and state government get on the task together all Class 12 students and teachers involved in the examination process can be vaccinated within three to four weeks."

Earlier, a petition was filed in the Delhi High Court to direct the Centre and Delhi government to vaccinate students appearing in the Class 12 board examination.
