NEW DELHI: The prime minister Narendra Modi, in his address at the foundation-stone laying of a new state university in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh said: “The 21st century India has moved towards a new era of education and skill, the creation of a university in the name of such an immortal son of Mother Bharat is giving her true tribute.” He said that Mahendra Pratap Singh, after whom the new university is being named, not only fought for the freedom of India but also played an active role in building a foundation for India's development in the future.

“This university will not only become a major center of modern education but will also become a center for defense-related studies, technology related to defence manufacturing, and manpower development,” Modi added.

The state university is expected to have a grand entrance gate. Construction will be done in Musepur village of Lodha block on 94 acres of land, for which the state government has released a budget of Rs 101 crore. Around 400 colleges will be affiliated to this university, the construction of which is to be completed by 2023.

PM Modi stated that Uttar Pradesh has become an attractive place for all investors of the country and the world. As the Yogi Adityanath government is working towards development in the state and the right environment for development has been created. UP Assembly polls are scheduled in early 2022.
