4 Maharashtra professors allege corruption in college, beaten by goons; 5 arrested

The main accused, president of Guhagar Education Society Mahesh Bhosale, is absconding, the Bombay University and College Teachers Union said.
NEW DELHI: Four professors of Khare-Dhere-Bhosale College, Guhagar, were allegedly attacked by the president of Guhagar Education Society and secretary along with 7 goons in the college premises for opposing the mismanagement in the college. In connection with the case, five accused have been arrested and will be produced today in the court.
A total of five people, including secretary Sandeep Bhosale, and two alleged goons Rohan Bhosale, and Patkar have been arrested in connection with the case. They will be produced in the court today itself. And the main accused, president Mahesh Bhosale, is absconding, the BUCTU told Careers360 .
Condemning the attack on professors, the Bombay University and College Teachers Union (BUCTU) organised a protest march from the college to Guhagar Tehsildar's office on December 21 between 2 pm and 4.30 pm.
The incident took place on December 18 when Govind Sanap, Anil Hirgond, Santosh Jadhav, and Neelkanth Bhalerao working at Khare-Dhere-Bhosale College, Guhagar, were brutally attacked with iron rods and wooden sticks by the president of Guhagar Education Society, Mahesh Bhosale, secretary Sandeep Bhosale, and his 7 other goons near the college main gate and later in the college premises, the teachers union said.
When Careers360 contacted the college authorities to know more about the incident, Mahendra Gaikwad, in-charge principal said: "The incident happened outside the college premises. I don't know what transpired as I wasn't present there. We are yet to receive any information from professors."

“All the professors, students, parents and staff are under immense terror…To protest this cowardly attack and to provide moral support to the professors, on behalf of BUCTU, a protest march of teachers, students and parents was organized,” the college teachers union said.
People from different sections of society, parents, teachers, and members of BUCTU responded spontaneously to this protest march. “The aggrieved teachers must get justice, the criminals must be punished, corruption in the college must end, the corrupt management of the institution must be investigated, the board of directors must be dismissed,” were some of the slogans raised by the protestors.
This protest march was led by BUCTU president GB Raje, BUCTU general secretary Chandrashekhar Kulkarni. BUCTU executive committee members, senate and academic council members, current and former students, teachers from Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts also participated.
The highlight of the protest was the placards held by little girls in protest, which read: "Our fathers must get justice, the goons must be punished".
