NEW DELHI: The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has announced the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar awards today, September 11. The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award is distributed to 12 young scientists across the country. This comes amid a row over government's plans to prune National Science Awards.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated the faculty members of IISC Banglore, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and IIT Madras who have been honoured with the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science & Technology 2022.

The award is a testament of their outstanding contributions towards furthering human knowledge and progress as well as excellence in the field of applied research. The award is given every year to scientists under the age of 45 years.
