72% of learners in cybersecurity courses are from India, says Simplilearn
The top cybersecurity courses in India are advanced executive and professional certificate programmes, according to Simplilearn.

NEW DELHI : 72 percent of learners in the cybersecurity programmes offered by Simplilearn are from India. The organization which provides training on digital skills published a report titled ‘Safeguarding the Digital Frontier - Cybersecurity Trends and Upskilling Outlook for 2024’ which talks about increasing demand for cyber security.
Simplilearn has witnessed a 25% increase in the interest of learners in its cybersecurity programmes. Some of the popular cybersecurity courses among Indian students are the advanced executive programme in cyber security in partnership with the International Institute of Technology (IIIT) Bangalore and NPCI and professional certificate programme in cyber security with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur.
While the executive course brings in deep insights on building payment systems at scale factoring for security, the certificate programme focuses on offensive security measures that can be used by professionals to secure their servers and data centers against external threats.

NASSCOM anticipates that the Indian cybersecurity sector will generate 1 million jobs by 2027, the report said. Owing to high demand of cybersecurity professionals, the companies are offering salaries ranging from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 4 crore, it said.
As per the report, over 16 lakh cyber crimes have been reported in India in the last three years with financial fraud making up 77.41% of them. Bengaluru tops the list of cities with most cybercrimes followed by Hyderabad and Mumbai. However, the increase in digital transactions has strengthened the cybersecurity landscape of India, Simplilearn said.
