ACT Fellowship Program: Application open for young professionals to work on social impact projects

New Delhi: ACT Capital Foundation for Social Impact, a non-profit organisation that was formed during the covid pandemic, has opened applications for the second session of the ACT Fellowship Program. It will accept five fellows, young professionals who have worked a minimum of two years in the start-up, consulting or social sectors. The ACT Fellowship Program is a nine-month programme that will start from September 2023. Each fellow will be paid a stipend of Rs 60,000 per month and given a certificate on completion.

The 2023-24 ACT Fellowship Program will accept only five fellows. Candidates must be residents of India, a graduate in any discipline from a recognised institution in India or abroad and should have at least two years of work experience in a startup, consulting or social sector.

Application is online at actgrants.in and open till midnight on August 7. Those shortlisted will have to appear for an interview for final selection.

Fellowship: Venture capital and philanthropy

The Fellowship programme will teach the students how venture capital is applied in philanthropy from leading investors, founders and social impact leaders. The programme presents an opportunity to the young professionals who are seeking to build their career in social entrepreneurship, said the ACT statement.

Each fellow will work in one of ACT’s four focus areas - public healthcare, education technology, climate action and gender equality. Apart from this, the fellows will also work with ACT team on live projects such as sector research, deal-flow sourcing, due diligence, portfolio management, collaborative programs, industry events and more according to ACT’s statement.

“Our first cohort of fellows has recently graduated and their positive learning experience has fuelled us to refine the programme further. The fellowship is our way of bringing in the best and the brightest of young minds into the social impact space and we’re looking for ambitious go-getters who are genuinely interested in creating social change, passionate about the role of technology and innovation, and deeply curious about venture philanthropy”, said Director at ACT, Alankrita Khera.
