AFCAT 2024 notification out at afcat.cdac.in; eligibility criteria, pay scale

NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued the notification for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the AFCAT 2024 on the official website at afcat.cdac.in.
As per the official notification, the AFCAT 2024 registration is expected to begin on December 1 and end on December 30, 2023. The IAF aims to fill a total of 317 vacancies for flying, ground duty (Technical), and ground duty (Non-technical) branches.
The age limit for flying branch is 20 to 24 years as of January 1, 2024, that is candidates must be born between January 2001 to January 2005. The upper age limit for candidates having commercial pilot license issued by DGCA (India) have age relaxation upto 26 years.
Age limit for ground duty branches (Technical and non-technical) is 20 to 26 years as of January 1 that is candidates must be born between January 2, 1999 to January 1, 2005.
Flying branch and ground duty (Non-technical) - The candidate must have received at least 50% in both physics and mathematics during their Class 12 examinations, as well as hold three-year bachelor's degree or a BE or BTech degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognised university.

Ground duty (Technical): The applicant must have received at least 60% in both physics and mathematics in their Class 12 examinations. They should also hold a degree in engineering or technology from a recognised university, either at the graduation or post-graduate level.
The selected candidates will be offered a pay scale between Rs 56,100 to 1,77,500. They are also eligible for allowances depending on the nature of duty and place of posting.

Candidates can follow these steps to apply for the AFCAT 2024.
- Go to the official website at afcat.cdac.in.
- On the homepage, click on the registration option.
- Fill the registration form by entering details such as name, email id, contact information.
- Next, login by entering credentials generated during registration.
- Fill in the application form with required details.
- Upload required documents and pay the fees.
- Download and take a printout of the confirmation page.
