NEW DELHI: The All India Students Association (AISA) has called for a protest against the latest Agnipath scheme to recruit soldiers into the Indian armed forces -- the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force, on a contractual basis for four years followed by compulsory retirement for most without gratuity and pension benefits. The students' organisation asked the student community to join the "Sayukth Rozgar Andolan Committee" Satyagraha organised by it on June 17, 10 am at ITO gate number 5, Delhi.
AISA condemned the "contractualisation" of defence jobs and demanded secure and dignified employment. It also condemned the repression of police on the defence aspirants who are protesting against the Agnipath recruitment scheme.
