AIA launches ‘Certificate in Business Finance’ for accounting professionals in India

The business qualifications will support nearly 10,000 Indian professionals within the first two to three years.
The Association of International Accountants (AIA) has launched a certificate programme in Business for finance and accounting professionals. The certificate qualifications are designed to strengthen financial and business awareness.
The certificate in business qualifications are aimed at bridging local expertise with global standards. The qualifications can be used for business and management careers to provide practical training in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting skills.
Stating the importance of the evolving financial market in India, David Potts, director of Policy and Regulation, AIA’s, British Deputy High Commissioner, said: “India is one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving financial ecosystems in the world and is home to over 400,000 Accountants and an equally large number of cost and management accountants.”

Chandru Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner, Karnataka and Kerala, stated: “With the signing of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, education is one of the key focus areas for the collaboration. It is really heartening to see AIA entering India and getting active here. We are here to provide all the support they need to grow in the Indian market.”
“This depth of talent, combined with India’s growing demand for globally recognised qualifications, makes it a key market for AIA. Through these qualifications, AIA aims to bridge the gap between local education and international standards and empower Indian finance professionals with the practical skills, global recognition and mobility that they require to flourish in today’s interconnected markets,” Potts added.

The qualifications will support nearly 10,000 Indian professionals within the first two to three years. It also eyes surpassing 20,000 as recognition of AIA’s global credentials increases, according to the official statement.
The UK-based AIA marked its entry into India with a launch event at The Chancery Pavilion in Bengaluru, attended by David Potts, AIA’s Director of Policy and Regulation, British Deputy High Commissioner Chandru Iyer, and industry leaders such as CA Anand Kumar and S.R. Nair from Finprov Learning.
