AICTE, CTE join to provide ‘world-class educational services’ to students, faculty; bridge digital skills gap

NEW DELHI: The Consortium for Technical Education (CTE) has partnered with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), under the Ministry of Education to impart educational services using technology. The agreement seeks to provide world-class educational opportunities to students across technical institutions in India.

The collaboration will bridge the digital skills gap and equip students with the necessary expertise. AICTE through its existing platforms will grant higher technical educational institutions and their students access to CTE's proprietary Digital Infrastructure Platforms. These platforms contain training programmes, industry-recognized certifications, workshops, internships, and the next generation of data centres for hosting Digital Infrastructure Platforms.

The CTE's Digital Infrastructure Platforms offer state-of-the-art software products and a knowledge-based Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS has a diverse range of hybrid training programmes. These programmes include interactive video-based curriculums by industry experts and leading academic professors on various subjects such as cyber security, computer science, and software engineering. Students will also be able to access hands-on virtual labs, workbooks, and webinars.

The CTE also provides instructor-led training programmes, workshops, seminars, virtual internships, and reskilling and upskilling programmes for faculty and staff members. The consortium aims to provide educators with the latest knowledge and teaching methodologies.

The CTE’s Digital Infrastructure Platform will be made available to approximately 9,000 higher technical educational institutions across India, benefiting over three million students. The initiative will be overseen by a Steering Committee, headed by the member secretary of AICTE, comprising senior management officials from both CTE and AICTE. The committee will ensure the implementation and periodic review of the programme.

AICTE, in its supporting role, will provide comprehensive technical assistance, including customization, management, maintenance, upgrades, and other necessary modifications to ensure the seamless functioning of the platform.
