NEW DELHI: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will launch its new approval process handbook for the year 2024- 2027 this week. The event for the launch of handbook is set to take place on December 6, 2023 (Wednesday).
The event will take place at the national media centre, New Delhi from 11am onwards.
The AICTE Approval Process Handbook (APH) is a road map for all institutions seeking approval from the council to have programs or courses that fall within the purview of AICTE.
AICTE is thus working to create a transparent and trouble-free technical education environment by guaranteeing seamless approvals to institutes via the AICTE approval process handbook. Various adjustments and changes have been made into the approval process handbook 2024-27, with an emphasis on educational quality, procedural simplicity, and transparency in execution.
The introduction of new APH will provide value by streamlining the approval process and allowing institutions to operate in the most efficient and effective manner possible. The new rules in the AICTE approval process handbook aim to make India a technological powerhouse or technical hub by 2047.
This year in the month of March, the approval process handbook was launched for the year 2023-2024. The key highlights of the handbook were:
-
While applying for new courses, engineering institutes must already have at least three core branches, and unlike past years, institutions can apply for numerous programmes.
-
60 percent NBA accerditation by NBA were said to be provided in the next one year.
-
Collaboration norms were relaxed. Top 1,000 rank holders in QS rankings were invited for collaboration. First 100 AICTE-approved institutions were allowed for collaboration.
