The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the CBSE Class 10 Maths paper 2026 today. According to the subject experts, the Basic Maths section was “moderate” in difficulty, while MCQs were “lengthy”, whereas the Maths standard section was more "time-consuming." The CBSE 10th Maths Question Paper 2026 had MCQs for which students required time-management skills to quickly “analyse and calculate.” In contrast, the case study questions were mostly “direct.”
Notably, Maths paper had more NCERT-based questions, with nearly 70% of the questions based directly on textbook exercises and familiar formats, making it easy for students who have practised NCERT and textbook examples and exercises thoroughly.

Overall, the Standard Maths paper maintained a "balanced mix" of conceptual and application-oriented questions.
As per the subject experts, the CBSE 10th Basic Maths paper was more time-consuming and required time management skills. Questions from Quadratic Equations, Areas Related to Circles, and the Arithmetic Progressions case-study were "lengthy" and required detailed working and conceptual clarity.
