AICTE signs pact with Nemetschek India to establish AEC centres of excellence in 10 technical institutions

AICTE will upskil over 25,000 students from civil and related fields for various roles in the AEC industry as part of the partnership.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has signed an agreement with Nemetschek India Private Limited to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. The partnership will also initiate the establishment of architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) centres of excellence in AICTE-affiliated institutions.
The agreement between AICTE and Nemetschek will establish AEC centres of excellence in 10 affiliated colleges to create a strong ecosystem for industry-relevant learning.
The collaboration will also upskill and reskill over 25,000 students in civil and related disciplines for various emerging roles in the AEC industry. It will also promote building information modelling (BIM) through a 50-hour, 3-credit skilling programme for students.
AICTE GRI internship 2026 programme
Recently, the council asked the government technical universities and higher education institutions to submit information regarding IT infrastructure and vacant or unused space for assessment of the National Testing Agency (NTA) in order to establish Standard Testing Centres (STCs).
The technical education authority also launched an AICTE Innovation and Entrepreneurship Doctoral Fellowship Programme (AIEDFP) for 150 PhD scholars. The council also announced Rs 245 crore for the fellowship programme over a period of five years.
Furthermore, the AICTE has also opened applications for Mitacs Globalink Research Internship (GRI) 2027 programmes. Candidates can apply for the internship programme by September 16.
It is designed to provide an opportunity for students to take-up a 12-week research project at Canadian academic institutions under the supervision of faculty members.
