Allahabad University extends probation period for teachers to 2 years

The benefits will be granted to the faculty members from the date of joining only after the completion of the probation period.
NEW DELHI: The University of Allahabad announced an extension of the probation period for all newly recruited teaching faculty. In a recent decision, the executive council of the university held a meeting and decided to increase the probation period from one year to two years for the newly appointed faculty members.
Consequently, all benefits such as the addition of past services, fixation of pay, seniority and other benefits will be granted to the faculty members from the date of joining only after the completion of the extended two-year probation period.

The University of Allahabad's official notice reads: "The Executive Council unanimously decided that the probation period be extended from one year to two years for all the newly recruited faculty members. It was further resolved that all consequential benefits viz., addition of past services, fixation of pay, seniority and other benefits provided under U.G.C. regulations 2018 as amended from time to time, would be provided from the date of joining only after completion of probation period of two years, and the ordinances also are modified to this extent."
The decision aims to ensure a comprehensive evaluation and assessment of the performance and capabilities of the newly recruited faculty. Extending the probation period will provide ample time for the university to gauge their teaching abilities, research contributions and overall commitment to their respective roles.

The modified ordinances will now reflect this change and align with the new probation period policy. The decision has been implemented with immediate effect to ensure the effective functioning and growth of the University of Allahabad.
