NEW DELHI, JULY 12: Amity Institute of Education (AIE), Noida, organized an International guest lecture on “Dynamics of Social Cohesion” by Dr. Chad Allen Rose of University of Missouri in an effort to address the prevalent problem of bullying in the school, community and the society.
The lecture focused on tackling bullying as a social and community issue rather than just relegating it to a school issue. It is not enough if we only focus on the academic performance of the child, rather it's more important to focus on the behavioural patterns of the child inside and outside the class. Only this could lead to his holistic development, said Dr Chad.
Punishing a child is in no case a suitable option if we are looking for his/her betterment. Reinforcement, and not punishment, is the way to make the child realize and correct his mistake, he added.
More than 100 Faculty members, Research scholars and Students attended the lecture conducted at the university campus. Dr. Alka Muddgal, Head, Amity Institute of Education, credited the agreement signed with the University of Missouri 3 years ago for the strong bond and relationship shared by both parties.
