Amity University signs MoU with CSIR for academic and scientific research

NEW DELHI, JULY 25: Amity University and Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India signed an MoU recently to form a forum of academic and scientific research.
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Dr. Shekhar Mande, Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity University.
As part of the MoU, joint research and academic programmes will be undertaken in various areas relevant to nation-building including alternative energy, agriculture and food security, advanced materials, IT & IoT, robotics, the solution to industrial problems, water technology, frugal innovation, environmental, climate change, healthcare, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity University, emphasized that there should be joint national-level programmes in CSIR in partnership mode addressing national priorities. Dr. Chauhan opined that this historical MoU brings two prestigious organisations together to address some of the challenges faced not only by India but globally.
Dr. Shekhar Mande, DG, CSIR shared that the MoU will help in improving academic and scientific out of box thinking at both the organisations, leading to marketable products and felicitate the vision for India to achieve the 5 trillion economy.
Dr. W Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation, made a technical presentation on the recent research accomplishments of Amity related to Agriculture and Food, Healthcare, Energy, Advanced Materials and Environment. He mentioned that there exists a lot of commonality in R7D endeavours of both the organizations, which could act as a force multiplier bringing exponential growth and valuable research outcomes contributing to sustainable development goals.
Amity University and CSIR will constitute a high-level Committee to provide policy directions and monitor the activities of the MoU. Members will be invited from ministries, experts from academic and R&D institutions, industry associations.
