NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 24: Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released notification for recruitment to the post of Panchayat Secretary (Grade IV) in Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Subordinate Service. As many as 1051 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment exam.The notification has been release at https://psc.ap.gov.in/ . APPSC will conduct the screening test offline on April 21, 2019. The main examination of APPSC Panchayat Secretary will be held online on August 2, 2019.

The online application form of APPSC Panchayat Secretary will be available from December 27 to January 19, 2019. The last date of fee payment is January 18, 2019. The application fee is Rs 250 while the examination fee is Rs 80. Candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, BC, PH & Ex-Servicemen etc) are exempted from payment of examination fee. According to the notification, candidates who are between 18 to 42 years as on July 1, 2018 and have completed their graduation can apply for the exam.

As per the exam pattern, the screening test will carry objective type questions. The question paper will be divided into two parts – A and B. Part A will have questions from General Studies & Mental Ability while Part B will carry questions from Rural Development and Problems in Rural Areas with special reference to Andhra Pradesh. The test will carry total 150 marks. There will be two papers in the Main Examination. The test will carry 300 questions. Maximum marks allotted to the Main examination is 300. The standard of question paper for both preliminary and mains examination will be of degree level.

The selection process of APPSC Panchayat Secretary comprises -Screening Test and Main Examination.Candidates should note that the Screening Test will be conducted in case the number of applicants are more than 25,000. Selection of candidates for appointment will be done based on their performance in the Main Examination. The Commission has announced the minimum qualifying marks for the recruitment exam which is 40% for Other Category (Oc) while that for BC candidate it is 35%. The qualifying marks for SC category is 30%. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks inorder to be eligible for the next round of selection process.
