Assam Board HSLC, HS exams 2021 will be conducted, says education minister

Assam Board Class 10, 12 exams to be conducted in the state, said education minister Ranoj Pegu. The Assam board exam process will be completed by August 15, the minister added, as per reports.

Download NowNEW DELHI: The Assam government has announced that the SEBA HSLC, HS exams 2021 will be conducted and that the board exam process will be complete by August 15, as reported by NDTV news. Thousands of students were running a campaign on Twitter to cancel the Assam board exams 2021 .

The report further states that students are not required to appear for all exams. They will be given the choice of papers. Also, all exam invigilators and staff members will be vaccinated first.
Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu said, “We have identified enough exam centres that are outside the flood-prone zones where exams can be held seamlessly. Also, the cases of COVID-19 are also decreasing in the state. So, we are very hopeful," as reported by NDTV.
The decision was taken in the meeting called by the education minister with all stakeholders including student union and parents.
Earlier, Assam Congress President Ripun Bora came forward in support of cancelling the SEBA board exam 2021 for Class 10 and 12. He also wrote a letter to chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma requesting to follow the evaluation scheme in line with the CBSE's internal assessment.
Students also started a campaign on Twitter using hashtags like #CancelAssamBoardExams and #WakeUpSEBAASHE to cancel the Assam board exams 2021.
