Assam extends pre, post-matric scholarship application deadline for ST students to September 30

NEW DELHI : Assam ministry of tribal affairs has extended the application deadline for the pre-matric scholarship for Classes 9 and 10 students belonging to scheduled tribe (ST) for the academic year 2024-25 to September 30. As per the latest notice, submission of online applications for pre and post-matric scholarships to ST students is open at the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) official website, scholarships.gov.in.
Students studying in Classes 9 and 10 in government, government-aided, government-recognized institutions, higher secondary schools, colleges, and institutes will be eligible to apply for pre and post-matric scholarships.
The objective of the pre and post-matric scholarships is to support ST students so that the incidence of drop-out, mainly in the transition from elementary to secondary education is minimised. Students will also have a better chance of progressing to the next stage of education, it said.
