Assam NEET UG counselling 2024 for MBBS, BDS seats under 5% govt school quota starts tomorrow

Check NowNEW DELHI: Assam Directorate of Medical Education will begin the offline NEET UG counselling for qualified candidates seeking admission into first-year MBBS, BDS courses under the 5% government school quota for the academic year 2024-25 tomorrow, October 5. The Assam NEET UG offline counselling will commence at 11 am at the office of the DME, Assam, Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati-22.

The list of provisionally eligible candidates for offline NEET UG 2024 counselling has been hosted on the official website, dme.assam.gov.in. Such candidates are required to complete the document verification within the stipulated time period.
“Only those candidates whose NEET-UG-2024 Roll No. appear in this list can participate in the said counselling. Candidates must bring with them all original documents and other relevant documents at the time of counselling,” the directorate said.
The revised Assam NEET UG counselling 2024 schedule as well as fresh seat matrix will be notified only after the completion of the offline MBBS counselling.

In December 2023, the Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa announced that the state government had decided to reserve 5% seats in government medical and engineering colleges for government school-educated students. To be considered under the 5% govt school quota seats, students should have studied in government schools from Class 7 to 12.
As per the offline schedule announced earlier, the seat allotment under the 5% government quota seats will be declared on October 6 at the portal, dme.assam.gov.in. Selected students will have to report and join the allotted college between October 7 and 8.
