Download NowNEW DELHI: Bar Council of Gujarat banned over 9 thousand lawyers, who did not pass the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) conducted by the Bar Council of India, from practising law.
“9168 lawyers of Gujarat will not be able to practice in any court of the state. This decision was taken unanimously in the General Assembly of the Bar Council of Gujarat,”

In a meeting, Anil Akela, Chairman of the Registration Committee of the Bar Council said “Any lawyer who has not been able to pass this test will not be allowed to practice in any court in the state. Bar Council of India has given approval to these lawyers to pass the examination in the next two years,” as per the report.
Bar Council of Gujarat President Kishore Trivedi and Vice President Karan Singh Vaghela were also present in the meeting.
The list of all these lawyers has been sent to all the district and tehsil and High Court Bar. “If these lawyers are found practising in any court, legal and judicial action has also been warned against them,” the report added.
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the admit cards for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE XVI) 2021, which is scheduled to be conducted on October 31. Candidates can download the AIBE admit card 2021 by logging into the registration portal.
