BHU launches Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Internship to provide professional exposure
BHU offering one-year internship for PG students, eligible candidates to get Rs 20,000 monthly.

NEW DELHI: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has launched 'Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Internship' for students with the aim to help them gain professional exposure and increase employability. The one-year internship offers 100 positions in five different industries. Selected students will get a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000. Eligible students can apply for the internship on the official website – bhu.ac.in.
Under this initiative, students will be enrolled in a master's degree programme in library science, education, physical education, visual arts, performing arts, BEd and MCA. The University will be adding more disciplines to the internship scheme in future.

Eligibility Criteria
Students with a degree in any discipline are eligible to apply for the internship. Those who have been awarded gold, silver or bronze medals in national or international events in the proposed five disciplines can also apply.
The University has also listed down subject-wise eligibility criteria:
- Library Sciences: The candidate must have a master’s degree in library science or computer applications.
- Education: BEd or MEd
- Physical Education: The candidate requires a master’s in physical education or a degree in any discipline with a medal for national or international events.
- Visual and Performing Arts: Similarly, the candidates must have a master’s in Visual or Performing Arts or have won a medal in a national or international event.

Selection Process
Candidates will be selected through a discipline-level screening committee.
BHU VC will form a university level committee which will interview shortlisted candidates and make recommendations.
Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Internship will allow selected candidates to undergo an internship with the BHU system. The selected candidates will be assigned jobs based on their qualifications and opportunities available at time. The internship scheme is being managed by the Sponsored Research Industrial Consultancy Cell (SRICC) at BHU.
BHU Vice-Chancellor, Sudhir Kumar Jain said, “New opportunities must be created for students to enable them to gain practical and professional experience, which ultimately helps them to excel in their life and career."
