The Bihar board will conduct the first shift exams from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm, while the second shift exam will be held from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. An initial 15 minutes will be given to all candidates to read and understand the questions.
For visually impaired candidates, BSEB matic exams in Home Science (instead of Mathematics) and Music (instead of Science) will be conducted based on the old syllabus. Accordingly, visually impaired candidates will appear for Music instead of Science in the first shift on May 4, and Home Science instead of Mathematics in the first shift on May 5, 2026.
Additionally, spastic, visually impaired, and disabled candidates unable to write will be permitted by the district education officer to have a non-matriculate scribe, and information regarding this must be provided to the committee office. Such candidates will be given an additional 20 minutes per hour.
The BSEB matric special practical exams 2026 will be held from April 29 to 30 for elective subjects: Home Science, Music, Dance, Fine Arts; Music for visually impaired candidates; and vocational elective subjects (Security, Beautician, Tourism, Retail Management, Automobile, Electronics & Hardware, Beauty & Wellness, Telecom, and IT/ITeS trades).

As per the Bihar board guidelines, entry to the exam centre for both shifts will be allowed only until 30 minutes before the start of the exam. For the first shift, entry will be allowed until 9 am, and for the second shift, entry will be allowed until 1:30 pm.
