NEW DELHI: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) held the Bihar Board Matric exams in two shifts today from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm and the afternoon shift from 1:45 pm to 5 pm. On the first day, Class 10 students appeared for the mother language paper (Hindi, Urdu, Bangla, and Maithili) in both the shifts.

As per BSEB guidelines, students were allowed 15 mins cool off time after entering the exam hall. Students were advised to reach the exam centre atleast 30 minutes before the exam commencement.
Recently, BSEB instructed students that shoes and socks are strictly prohibited at the exam centre. Students were asked to wear slippers instead of shoes.
The BSEB Matric exam was held for over 15 lakh students across 1,677 exam centres. A total of 7,67,746 male students and 8,18,122 female filled out the exam application to appear for the BSEB Bihar Matric exams 2025.
As per exam rules, blind and otherwise disabled students were given permission to keep a scribe and they were also given 20 minutes extra each hour to complete their exam. Students were not allowed to carry any electronic devices such as mobile phones, watches etc to the exam hall.
A total of 73 exam centres were set up in the Patna district for 71,669 candidates who appeared for the examination. Anand Kishor, chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board, conducted a surprise inspection of various examination centres in Patna, including Rajkiya Balika +2 Vidyalaya, Bankipur, Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav High School, Punaichak, Rajkiya Balika Uchh Vidyalaya, Gardanibagh, Kamla Nehru Balika Uchh Vidyalaya, Yarpur, and Daroga Prasad Rai High School, Saristabad. Notably, three of the four model examination centres in Patna district include Rajkiya Balika +2 Vidyalaya, Bankipur, Rajkiya Balika Uchh Vidyalaya, Gardanibagh, and Kamla Nehru Balika Uchh Vidyalaya, Yarpur.
During the inspection, the chairman reviewed the examination arrangements with the deputed magistrates and centre superintendents, confirming that the exams were being conducted smoothly while adhering to all board guidelines with effective management. The chairman also interacted with candidates to gather feedback on the exam questions, and frisking of some students was carried out at these centres.
BSEB will conduct the exams for Mathematics tomorrow for both the shifts, morning and evening. The Bihar Board Class 10 matric exams will end on February 25. Students are advised to carry their admit card regularly to the exam centre. The Bihar Board Class 10 results are expected to be announced in March 2025. Students will be able be access their results through the official website.
