Students of Classes 9 to 12 can access the Filo app through mobile phones for clarifying doubts, learning concepts and taking video lessons.
NEW DELHI: School students of Classes 9 to 12 from over 9000 government schools of Bihar will get free access to the Filo app, a live tutoring app under a collaboration between the Bihar government and the app. Bihar education minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary inaugurated the app. More than 50,000 tutors are available on the platform. Filo app can be accessed through mobile phones for clarifying doubts, learning concepts and taking video lessons.
More than 45 lakh students can learn from professional tutors on the platform through personalised learning. Through this initiative, Bihar has become the first Indian state to democratise and provide equitable academic support to students outside schools. The Filo app was founded by four IIT graduates who are entrepreneurs and engineers. Students who are using Filo will gain access to exclusive access to live, personalised individual training, and video learning sessions.
"We are proud to be the first state government to offer live instant tutoring support to our students. I wholeheartedly congratulate the founders of Filo to come up with such a platform whose aim is to help the students in their learning progression and offer spot solutions 24/7. Filo is true to the meaning of its name where the mission of the app is to handhold students in their after-school learning and helps them solve their learning problems just like a friend does in our normal lives," Choudhary said.

“As someone who hails from the state and has done his schooling from Patna, I am thrilled to be able to create a product that can enable high quality 1:1 learning at scale for students from Bihar. Having been a teacher who has helped thousands realize their goals, I can say with confidence that post classroom personalized tutoring can create a massive difference in students’ performance. In the USA, this is a tried and tested model and districts like San Francisco, Florida, Chicago and Los Angeles have been offering such support for a while now. It gives me immense pleasure that Bihar has become the first state in India to implement this with much advanced technology which me, Shadman & Rohit have invented,” said Imbesat Ahmad, co-founder of Filo.
