The decision was taken in light of the recent Supreme Court judgment on Vichar Manch, Patna petition to remove the ‘Tanti-Tantwa’ caste from Scheduled Caste (SC) list and be merged with the caste 'Pan/Sawasi' in Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) category.
Those candidates who have been allotted seats through revised round-1 seat allotment result but failed to report at the allotted college or get their documents verified will be automatically considered for free exit and the previously filled choices will be considered null and void. Even if the applicants have opted for upgradation, they will have to complete the counselling process and fill fresh choices for round 2.
In line with the SC order, candidates belonging to the Tanti-Tantwa who selected SC category in application form were given an opportunity to make edits in the category from SC to EBC. A total of 30 candidates made changes in the category. Following this, the BCECEB UGMAC seat allotment announced on August 21 has been withdrawn and the revised allotment will be published.
The Bihar revised rank card of UGMAC-2024 will be made available on the admission portal. Candidates will have to enter their UGMAC ID and date of birth to check the allotment.
