CBSE Board Exams 2025 Live: Class 12 accountancy paper 'moderate' in difficulty level, exam analysis

There are around 7,842 centres across India and 26 centres overseas from where the exams are being held.

The CBSE Class 12 results 2025 are expected to be declared in May.

As per students, conceptual understanding was needed to crack it. This was tested particularly in the MCQs that required lengthy calculations to arrive at answers,"

 So far, there are no reports on CBSE Class 12 accountancy paper leak 2025. The duration of CBSE Class 12 accountancy 2025 was 3 hours.

The CBSE Class 12 accountancy question paper 2025 carried 80 marks. The practical assessment carried 20 marks.

According to Meenu Chandhok, HOD – Commerce at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, the CBSE Class 12 Accountancy paper 2025 was conceptual but not difficult. MCQs were lengthy and required detailed calculations and competency-based questions on ‘Issue of Shares’ were also time-consuming, as per Chandok.

According to Meenu Chandhok, the HOD of Commerce, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, the CBSE Class 12 accountancy paper was not difficult. Students who had a conceptual understanding of each topic, right from journal entries to the preparation of ledger accounts, would have been able to attempt the exam with much ease. However, the MCQ questions were lengthy and required elaborate calculations. 

"The competency-based questions on ‘Issue of Shares’ were also slightly time consuming to answer. Overall, it was a paper of moderate difficulty with a fair amount of evaluation of concepts and thoroughness of the content. Students who had practiced well would score good marks," HOD of commerce at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School said.

CBSE conducted the CBSE Class 10 board exam 2025 from February 15 to March 18 for more than 24 lakh students. As per past year's trends the CBSE board is expected to announce the results in the second week of May.

CBSE Class 12 accountancy paper analysis will be shared soon after the exam is over. The subject teacher's experts will soon announce the paper analysis 

CBSE has started the Class 12 accountancy paper from 10:30 am till 1:30 pm. 

According to CBSE officials, the board is examining a proposal to allow the use of basic non-programmable calculators in class 12 accountancy exams. 

“The board’s curriculum committee had proposed that basic, non-programmable calculators be allowed in class 12 accountancy examination, limited to functions necessary for typical financial calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage calculations,” a senior board official said.

Students were advised to reach the CBSE Board exam 2025 centre at least 30 minutes before the exam begins. 

As per board officials, CBSE is examining a proposal to allow basic non-programmable calculators in the Class 12 exam to ease the cognitive load associated with lengthy calculations. A panel will be formed to formulate guidelines on their use to ensure uniformity, said officials. 

The CBSE Class 12 exam will be held for three hours from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Candidates are advised to each exam centres 30 minutes before the exam begins to avoid any last minute rush. 

The following items are prohibited inside the CBSE Class 12 board exam.

• Extra papers, chits, notes – Any unauthorised material can lead to disqualification.
• Expensive items – Avoid carrying unnecessary valuables such as heavy gold earring, rings.
• Electronic devices - Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or Bluetooth devices are strictly prohibited.

Students are allowed to carry the following items for the CBSE Class 12 exam in 2025. 

• CBSE Class 12 admit card 2025
• School ID 
• Blue or black ballpoint pens 
• Transparent pencil box 
• Transparent water bottle 
• Medical documents (In case of any health conditions

CBSE board will conduct the accountancy exam in a single shift from 10:30 am to 10:30 pm for three hours. Candidates will be allowed to enter the exam centre before 10 am.

For the 2025 CBSE board exams, Class 12 exams are scheduled for a duration of three hours, starting at 10:30 am and ending at 1:30 pm. 

The marking scheme for accountancy for Class 12 CBSE board is as follows

A student needs to secure at least 33 per cent of total marks to pass in CBSE Class 12 exam. 

Students are not allowed to carry mobile phones, smart watches and other devices to the exam centre. Students are allowed to carry a transparent water bottle water to exam centres.

Students should carry their CBSE Class 12 admit card and school ID card to the exam centres for verification purposes.
