Subscribe NowBihar School Examination Board (BSEB) chairman Thiyagarajan SM has announced the board will conduct the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET), 2026. The decision has been taken by the board in light of instructions received from the Education Department, Bihar.
The online application process for the STET 2026 will begin on August 17, 2026. This exam is held to certify teachers for secondary (Classes 9-10) and higher secondary (Classes 11-12) grades.
The STET examination consists of two papers (paper 1 and 2). It will be conducted as a computer-based test comprising multiple-choice questions. The exam duration will be 150 minutes.

BSEB STET Registration 2026: Steps to fill application form
Once the application window opens, applicants can follow the mentioned below steps:
- Visit the official website of BSEB at bsebstet.org
- New candidates can click on the register option
- Fill out the details and then submit
- After this, the registration number (user ID) and password will be sent to the registered mobile number and email
- Log in using the generated credentials and then pay the application fee
- Fill out the application form with the needed details, upload the documents and then submit
- Download the confirmation page and take a printout for further reference

STET 2026: Exam pattern
The STET exam is divided into two sections: specified subject matter & teaching arts and other competencies. The exam carries a total of 150 marks, with 100 marks allotted to specified subject matter and 50 marks to teaching arts and other competencies. Each question carries 1 mark, and there will be no negative marking.
