The most popular and third-highest national-level entrance exam for BTech admission is through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). However, there are several universities that offer admission without JEE Main 2024 score.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently concluded the JEE Main 2024 session 1 and 2 exams for BE, BTech, BArch and BPlanning courses. Candidates who appeared in the JEE Main session 2 exams 2024 will be able to access the provisional answer key from the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. The final merit list will be prepared by merging the scores in two sessions and considering the best of two scores.
Admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), National Institutes of Technology (NIT) and other government-funded institutes is done through JEE Main. However, those who failed to qualify JEE have options to appear in state-level engineering entrance exams and university-level entrance exams to get BTech admission.
State-level engineering entrance exams
States including Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal will be conducting entrance exams for admission to government and government-unaided institutes.
MHT CET 2024 - Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for physics, chemistry, and mathematics (PCM) will be conducted on May 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, and 17. A total of 119 engineering colleges will offer admission to BTech and other courses. In the latest update, MHT CET admit card 2024 is expected to be out soon.
COMEDK UGET 2024 - Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test is scheduled to be held on May 12. Through this exam, admission to 170 participating private universities will be granted.
KCET 2024 - Karnataka Examination Authority will be holding the Karnataka Common Entrance Test ( KCET 2024 ) on April 18 and 19 for admission to 198 participating institutes, including government-aided and private institutes.
WBJEE 2024 - West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination ( WBJEE 2024 ) will be conducted by the WBJEE Board on April 28. The board will consider both WBJEE score and JEE Main score as valid for offering admission.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana also conduct separate entrance exams, AP EAMCET, TS EAPCET exams 2024 to fill seats in professional courses.
