Justice C Hari Shankar expressed surprise over the request of candidates and said “mere fact that the candidates may face hardship in undertaking the exam cannot be a ground to derail the exam which is to be taken by approximately 4.26,000 aspirants.”
The High Court mentioned that the Lok Sabha polls 2024 are scheduled on May 7 and 13 during the month of May and there is no CA exam scheduled for May 6 and 12. The court further said that the authorities have been proactive to ensure that casting of votes of the candidates is not affected by the exams. It is on the candidates to balance their schedule and itinerary in case they wish to cast their vote for general elections, it stated.
Highlighting the issues of transportation, election campaign rallies, poll-related disturbance, CA aspirants had filed a petition demanding the postponement of exams to June, after the conduct of elections.
ICAI had revised the CA exam date 2024 for Inter, Final exams due to clash with election dates which will be administered in seven phases from April 19 to June 1.
Accordingly, CA Inter exam dates 2024 are May 3, 5, and 9 for group 1 and May 11, 15, and 17 for group 2. On the other hand, CA Final exams 2024 will be held on May 2, 4, and 8 for group 1 and on May 10, 14, and 16 for group 2.
Initially, the CA Inter exams 2024 were scheduled from May 3 to May 13 and CA Final group 1 and 2 exams were scheduled from May 2 to 12.
