ICAI CA Final 2024 Exam Form: Candidates are demanding one-day submission extension citing shorter window, new SPOM policy.
NEW DELHI: CA Final November 2024 aspirants have taken social media by storm demanding reopening of application window. The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) concluded the CA Final November 2024 exam form submission facility on August 23 with a late fee. Several aspirants complained that they could not apply for the exam due to time crunch and confusion over new policy.
The institute allowed students to edit their examination forms between August 24 and 26. CA Final November 2024 exams will be conducted between November 1 and November 11.
Shorter exam window, SPOM policy
Listing down the reasons behind candidates’ demand, a CA also urged ICAI to consider the request. As per aspirants, CA Final exam form window was shorter in duration. Earlier, the students were given 29 days to submit their applications but for the November 2024 session, it was only 17 days.
ICAI has increased the exam cycle for CA Inter exam to three, however, CA Final cycle remains unchanged. Students alleged that the institute has the timeframe for the Final exams in order to manage the logistics and called it unfair. Moreover, the late fee application window was also open for only three days as compared to a week in previous attempts, the candidates complained.
The list also mentioned that several aspirants were confused relating to SPOM policy and were busy completing the SPOM lectures before submitting the exam form.
Students recalled how the institute extended the registration window in 2022 due to a change in the process of filling the form and demanded an extension for this year. They clarified that they do not wish for the exams to be delayed and are only asking for a one-day extension.
Further, students complained that the phone lines of ICAI are generally busy which makes it difficult to reach out and that the institute doesn’t have an SMS reminder system for registration like the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) for sending out a reminder on the last day of the facility.
CA Final aspirants reach out to CAs
Requesting the chartered accountants to forward their demands to ICAI, two aspirants asked for opening of the registration window for one day which may cost six months to a student.
“Respected ICAI, please open a one-day window to submit our exam form. Large number of students missed it due to a short period of time and new SPOM policy introduced for the November 24 attempt,” said another candidate on X (formerly Twitter).
Another aspirant wrote in a post, “Many CA students are disappointed as the exam application window for Nov 2024 CA Final attempt is closed at earliest. Requesting you to reconsider and reopen the window with some empathy and support to Final aspirants.”
“Numerous CA students were left disheartened as the exam application window for Nov 24 CA Final attempt closed sooner-than-expected,denying them a chance to apply. We urge you to reconsider & reopen the window, support for students aspirations,” requested another aspirant.
