NEW DELHI: IIM Ahmedabad is all set to close the CAT 2021 application process on September 22. As per the official notification, there will be no further extension in CAT exam registration. Hence, candidates are advised to apply early to avoid the last-minute rush. Interested and eligible candidates can register for the Common Admission Test (CAT) by visiting the official CAT website, iimcat.ac.in. CAT registration fee is Rs 2200 for General category candidates and Rs 1100 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. Also, candidates can now choose Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) as a preferred CAT test city .

IIM CAT registration was earlier scheduled to close on September 15 but was extended due to non-availability of necessary documents in the wake of COVID-19 for timely CAT registration. The media release mentions, “CAT 2021 process is to be conducted taking into account the COVID crisis. The information provided by the CAT website is contingent upon the decisions and directions issued from time to time by the Central & State governments, and IIMs.”

How to fill CAT 2021 application form
Follow the steps given below to fill CAT 2021 registration form:
Step 1: Visit the official website of IIM CAT 2021- iimcat.ac.in
Step 2: On the homepage, click on CAT 2021 registration link
Step 3: Register and create your ID and password
Step 4: Log in using your CAT login ID and password received on the mail and sms
Step 5: Fill in the CAT 2021 application form carefully
Step 6: Pay the CAT application fee and submit your form.

CAT Exam Registration 2021: Documents Required
Applicants are required to be ready with scanned copies of their signature, passport size photograph, academic certificates, work experience certification (if any), caste certificate, and identity proof before applying for the CAT 2021. The format of the signature and photograph should be JPG/ JPEG only with a maximum size of 80 KB and a minimum resolution of 150 px/inch.
Tips to ensure error-free CAT registration

As only 2 days are left for CAT registration, it is advised not to wait till the last day. You may face internet issues or website errors as over 2 lakh candidates apply for the exam.

The phone number and email Id provided must be correct as all information regarding the CAT exam, even the post-exam details such as result, IIM call letter, interview call will be conveyed to the candidate on it only.

Do preview the CAT application form at every step as and when the pop-up shows. Do not wait for the correction window to edit CAT form details, as only a few details can be edited later.

Do not get confused that your CAT registration is successful till you pay the CAT application fee. Also, download the CAT registration acknowledgment slip for future reference.

Choose CAT exam centers wisely. There are six options to fill the CAT test cities, so opt for the one where you can conveniently travel as the exam stress will add up to the long-distance travelling tiredness.
