CAT exam date 2022 is November 27 and is to be conducted in 151 test cities across India. There are multiple reasons for candidates taking the IIM CAT entrance exam. For some they didn’t get the desired CAT score and percentile, some did not receive calls from their dream MBA college or some got calls but couldn’t convert the GD/PI rounds of those institutes. Here are the 5 must-tips to follow for CAT 2022 repeaters.
5 tips for CAT exam repeaters
-
Do not use incorrect material for CAT 2022 preparation: Candidates must make sure they have the best study material available out there in the market. Referring to the old study material for re-appearing in the CAT exam 2022 may not stand correct in terms of changed exam pattern and more. It can mislead you and may not help in achieving the desired CAT percentile.
-
Evaluating where you stand: There is one advantage of being a CAT repeater. You know how the exam works! So assess whether there is an issue in basic understanding. If so clear your fundamental concepts. Analyze whether you missed out on accuracy. As per some esteemed institutes, accuracy level for Quant and Data Interpretation must be above 95 per cent. For verbal ability section, accuracy must be above 80 percent atleast.
-
A new CAT mock test strategy: As the entrance exam is near, it is CAT 2022 mocks that can rescue the ones who have just started their preparation. Implement a new CAT mock strategy rather than the one you used earlier. One of them is to take mocks in the actual time slots of CAT allotted as per the CAT admit card 2022. Analyzing them properly is more important – this will help you understand your strengths and weakness.
-
Avoid making the same mistakes as in the previous attempt: Do not look for a quick fix. Focus and improve in each section of CAT as each one of them is equally important. Do not indulge in practicing just your weaker section. Remember that in CAT entrance, you do not have an option to switch between sections. Instead one has to solve the CAT sections in a systematic order as designed by IIM Bangalore. So while preparing, CAT syllabus must be covered with due acuity.
-
Do not hesitate in using your old approach: Who knows maybe your old approach of attempting the CAT exam dint work that year but can turn out to be fruitful this year. In fact permutation of a variety of strategies is what must be implemented. For that, you have CAT mocks. When it comes to CAT preparation, trial and error is a proven method to formulate your strategy for the actual IIM CAT entrance examination.
Hence keep yourself dedicated. Accept the previous failure and move on. And in this last month keep revising what you have learned till now.
