Candidates who want to crack the IIM entrance exam with a good score must be aware of some common mistakes that many of them make during the CAT exam. For better performance and good marks in the CAT 2022 exam, candidates are advised to avoid these mistakes.

The most common mistake among examinees is not reading the questions properly. It is essential to understand that CAT is a speed-based test. Candidates need to make quick decisions during the CAT exam 2022.
They have to solve questions from three different subjects and maintain speed and accuracy throughout the two hours. Below mentioned mistakes are frequently made by candidates while appearing in the CAT entrance exam.
The night before the CAT exam, spend an hour revising important formulas, theories, and shortcuts. Don't start a new chapter, solve a mock test, or try to mug up a new topic. CAT is an aptitude test and if your concepts are clear, you can crack it.
Don't forget to carry two copies of your CAT 2022 admit card and a valid photo ID like Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Passport, or Driving License. Every candidate must submit a COVID-19 self-declaration at the examination centre. Candidates have to fill in a self-declaration before reaching the CAT exam center. Candidates belonging to the PwD category should carry PwD and scribe certificates.
Reach the CAT exam center early to avoid the last-minute rush. The process of identifying candidates is extensive, so it is important to reach the exam center ahead of time. Check below the reporting time for CAT 2022.

Candidates lose focus once they sit in the IIM CAT exam hall. Don't stare at other students around you. Focus only on yourself and your work. Watching what others are doing will make you lose a lot of time which you can’t afford. Focus on your CAT paper and acing this MBA entrance exam.
A common mistake made by candidates is that they can save time by rushing through the CAT question paper. Instead of saving time, they waste a lot of time because studying in a hurry makes them record or forget or misunderstand what they read and they have to go back over it. Read patiently.
If any question is difficult or confusing, don't waste your time on it. Move on to other questions, attempt them quickly and then return to the tougher questions. Know which questions you should attempt first. CAT 2022 will be held for 120 minutes and the total number of questions asked will be 66. So, don't spend more than a minute on a question.
The most important thing to remember on the day of the CAT exam - Is don't panic. Be calm in any situation. Only solve questions that you can answer accurately. CAT 2022 question paper may contain some tricky or confusing questions. Take a deep breath, read the question twice, and try to solve it. If you can't, move on. Do not take pressure off the on-screen timer. Don't watch it too often. Take CAT like any other exam. Don't give in to pressure.
