CAT 2026 registration closes tomorrow: How to select exam centre, fill form and avoid last-minute mistakes

The registration window for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 will close on September 15, at 5 pm. Candidates who are yet to submit the CAT 2026 application form should complete the registration and fee payment before the deadline. The official website to access and fill the CAT application form is iimcat.ac.in.

IIM Indore will conduct CAT 2026 on November 29 in three sessions at approximately 170 test cities. Candidates will get an option of selecting five preferred cities while filling the application form.

CAT 2026 Registration: Here’s how to register online

The registration window opened on August 3 at 10 am and will close on September 15 at 5 pm.

• Go to the official website iimcat.ac.in
• On homepage, click on ‘New Candidate Registration’
• On the redirected page, enter your name, date of birth, mobile number and email address
• Click on generate OTP
• Note down the registration number and password for future references

Candidates must complete the registration process by September 15. Applications submitted post-deadline will not be accepted in any case.

Steps to fill application form

• Go to the official website iimcat.ac.in
• On homepage, click on the link that reads ‘Registered Candidate Login’
• Log in using registration number and password
• Fill the application form, select test city preferences
• Upload image and all other supporting documents
• Cross-check the details before paying application fee
• Submit the form and download confirmation page

While registering, candidates should ensure that the personal, academic and category-related information entered in the application is accurate.

Candidates should maintain the same valid and unique email ID and mobile phone number throughout the selection process. CAT 2026 application fee for SC, ST and PwBD is Rs 1,350 and for all other categories it is Rs 2,700

They should note that once a test centre is allotted, no change will be permitted. CAT 2026 result will be out in January and the score will be valid until December 31, 2027.

Those who will be sitting for November 29 for CAT 2026 exam should rely only on the official CAT website for registration and subsequent examination updates.
