IIM Indore will conduct CAT 2026 in computer-based mode on November 29, 2026, in three sessions. Candidates should only rely on official website iimcat.ac.in for sharing personal information or making payments.
Candidates must also declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and mobile phone number throughout the selection process.
IIM CAT 2026 important dates
The below are the key dates of CAT 2026.
- Registration began -August 3, 2026, 10:00 AM
- Registration closes- September 15, 2026, 5:00 PM
- Admit card release date - November 4
- CAT 2026 exam - November 29
- Result - Expected in first week of January 2027

The examination will be conducted for a total duration of 120 minutes. The three sections to be included in question paper are:
- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
- Quantitative Ability (QA)
Candidates will receive exactly 40 minutes to answer questions in each section.
CAT 2026 application fee
Candidates must pay the applicable CAT 2026 registration fee while completing the application.
- SC, ST and PwBD candidates: Rs 1,350
- All other category candidates: Rs 2,700
The registration fee has to be paid only once, irrespective of the number of institutes a candidate applies to. Check eligibility, age limit, selection steps and other details below.

To apply online, candidates will have to register themselves and generate user ID and password
- Visit the official website iimcat.ac.in
- On homepage, look for the register window
- On the redirected page, enter registration number and password
- Fill the form and upload the required documents
- Pay the application fee and submit the form
- Take its printout for future references
Candidates should preserve the confirmation page till admission.

IIM CAT 2026 reservation criteria
For CAT 2026, NC-OBC certificates must be issued on or after April 1, 2026. EWS candidates must have a certificate valid for 2026-27 and specifically assessed for financial year 2025-26.
- SC: 15%
- ST: 7.5%
- NC-OBC: 27%
- EWS: up to 10%
- PwBD: 5%

CAT 2026 test cities
IIM CAT 2026 will be conducted at centres spread across approximately 170 test cities. Candidates must select five preferred test cities from a drop-down menu while filling the application form. In case a candidate cannot be allotted any of the five preferred cities, a nearby city may be allotted.

Candidates who successfully register for CAT 2026 will be allowed to edit certain details after the registration window closes.

Candidates appearing for final year of their bachelor's degree or have completed their degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, candidates selected while awaiting their results will be allowed to join provisionally, subject to submission of a certificate from the principal or registrar of their university or institution confirming completion of all requirements for the degree by the date stipulated by the respective IIM.

IIM CAT 2026: Minimum marks required to apply
Candidates applying for CAT 2026 must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories, the minimum requirement is 45%.
